Explore the Arts Trail

The Northern Territory is fast becoming known as the Australia’s premier destination for authentic art and culture.

A funding boost to our regional and remote art centres, art galleries, museums, libraries and keeping places is helping to drive visitation to key sites across the Northern Territory. To date 30 sites have received stimulus funding with highlights including:

  • NPY Women’s Council received funding for three projects including $99,600 for a new demountable artist studio Tjanpi Corner at Tjanpi Arts in Alice Springs, $10,000 to improve Telling Our Story signage at Tjanpi Desert Weavers, and $10,000 for a shade structure at Tjanpi Arts in Alice Springs
  • Hermannsburg Potters Aboriginal Corporation received $100,000 to improve access and interpretive signage at the Hermannsburg Potters studio and gallery
  • Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation received $95,000 towards infrastructure upgrades to the Walkatjara Art Gallery, located in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
  • Milingimbi Art Centre received $91,820 towards building upgrades to the Art Centre
  • Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre received $93,840 towards upgrading infrastructure to protect significant historic artwork in Yirrkala.
