The National Aboriginal Art Gallery will be the first of its kind in Australia. An investment of this kind must be delivered in a way that achieves maximum possible economic benefit to Alice Springs through a boost to retail and tourism visitation with the added flow-on benefits that arise from future investment opportunities and local economic growth.
Creating a cultural precinct in the town centre, which adds to the vibrancy and attractiveness of Alice Springs for locals and visitors alike, is integral to the project’s success.
The Anzac Hill Precinct, located in the heart of the CBD, will support a possible bid for Federal Government support through town centre rejuvenation initiatives and build confidence for further private investment into the town centre.
If we are to harness the potential of the National Aboriginal Art Gallery becoming The Iconic destination of Alice Springs, then it must be central to the heart of our City, and accessible to all.
